Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP)
SMEs employ most of the private workforce and will ensure that the post-pandemic recovery is just, equitable, and sustainable.
The importance of digital maturity for the government is reflected in the 2021 federal budget’s $4 billion commitment toward a Canada Digital Adoption Program.
The program aims to enable more small and medium-sized entrepreneurs (SMEs) to accelerate digital adoption and transformation, a crucial lever for increased productivity and competitiveness.
Grow Your Business Online funding stream.
Get up to $2,400 in funding to set up e-commerce and grow your sales online.
Boost Your Business Technology funding stream.
The grant will cover up to 90% of the cost of developing the digital plan, up to a maximum grant payment of $15,000.
To support the digital plan’s implementation, SMEs can apply for a zero-interest loan from the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) of up to $100,000. In addition, the funding stream will make available youth placement wage subsidies of up to $7,300.
We are a CDAP-recognized digital advisor; we meet and maintain all required ISED criteria to deliver digital advisory services to eligible Canadian SMEs.
We will work with eligible SMEs to develop digital adoption plans tailored to clients’ needs, providing vendor-neutral advice.

Like many others, the consultancy business is a human relationship based on trust, which we build daily with all the stakeholders. We abide by The Canadian Association of Management Consultants (CMC-Canada) – Code of Professional Conduct and The Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) – Digital Advisor Code of Conduct. Additionally, our company meets verified social and environmental performance standards, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose as a pending Certified B Corporation.
It can range from fully remote to entirely on-site. We’ll generally do remotely what can be done remotely and on-site what must be done on-site.
Boost Your Business Technology Grant is available to businesses that meet the below requirements defined by the Government of Canada:
a. A provincial or federal corporation or a Canadian resident-owned sole proprietorship.
b. Be privately owned and for-profit.
c. Have a maximum of 499 employees.
d. Earned a gross revenue of $500,000 to $100 million in one of the three previous years.
The $15,000 Canada Digital Adoption Program funding can be claimed as eligible expenses. The Government of Canada will reimburse businesses up to 90% of eligible digital adoption costs for up to $15,000. Once your Grand Lake Consulting CDAP advisor has delivered your digital adoption plan, you can submit the relevant invoices to claim the grant amount.
Once you select Grand Lake Consulting as your CDAP advisor, we can begin helping you with your application and conducting your needs assessment so that we can develop your digital adoption plan.
The kick-off typically happens within a few days of signing your service agreement. We aim to wrap up within two months of funding approval; in that timeframe, you must submit your digital adoption plan and relevant invoices to the federal government.
Your digital adoption plan is a comprehensive roadmap to identifying current challenges and opportunities for digital transformation.
This roadmap is tailored to your business needs, with expert recommendations, a cost-benefit analysis of industry-standard tools and platforms, and a pathway to implementation through a more extended partnership with Grand Lake Consulting.

Once you click the appropriate link, you will be directed to the BDC application page (leaving CDAP’s portal environment to BDC’s).
It is done for both. The credit check is done on the company and all shareholders with over 25% of the company.
The loan does not require GSA, and the only entity that would be linked to BDC is the business itself.
There is a unique process for the CDAP – BDC loan, which is not affected by the previous loans that the client already has with BDC.
They would still go through the same application process as anyone else.
The client must complete the web form (information about the company, shareholders, etc.), provide a valid ID (license, passport) and submit their financial statement.
BDC will not ask for invoices after disbursing the loan; BDC provides the audit right to ISED.
First, the applicant must access the BDC link from their CDAP portal.
Then the SME will fill out the BDC application form, and BDC will request additional information, such as financial statements.
Any shareholder that holds more than 25% of the shares will have to identify and provide their consent for the loan.
On average, the processing time takes around 14 days; however, the timelines may differ depending on the client.
Once the offer letter is signed, the loan is disbursed the next day (24 hours).
This excludes weekends.
BDC will decide on the loan amount depending on the amount requested by the business and their revenues: If the company’s revenues are between $500,000 and $5,000,000, they are eligible for a loan between $25,000 and $50,000. If the company’s revenues are over $5 million (maximum is $100 million), they are eligible for a loan between $25,000 and $100,000.
Yes, After grant recipients have worked with a digital advisor to create a Digital Adoption Plan, they can apply for wage subsidy funding through the Magnet platform. Magnet supports employers through the application process and, if necessary, can assist employers with posting a job advertisement or answering questions about the funding program.
